I tried unsuccessfully..... as follows:

I created a project and added the code you mention and the line "ShellListView1.FolderList.Sort(ShellCompare);" always faILS for obvious reasons (it isnt 'seeing' the new code)

1. tried: unticked 'Shell Control Property and Component Editors
'\bin\dclshlctls70.bpl

prompted for: 'Remove Runtime Packages'
'vclshlctrls', clicked yes

2. tried ticking 'build with runtime packages' didnt seem to make any difference.

3. removed the package completely, via 'component', install package, then 'removed
rebuilt all, project, then when back in and restored. Same result. BUT, this did have a big effect when I quit Delphi and returned, it complained that the ShellListView dosnt exist, do I want to remove them from the project! I cancelled and then added the package, but still didnt work.

4. I checked the '\bin\dclshlctls70.bpl and the date was the same. Totally unsure how this gets rebuilt?!

It all appears complex, but probably missing something quite obvious (but not to me!)

shame, because the program (htp://thomaswolsey.com/software/) is very useful. Explorer with LOTS of favourite places and control for an adminstrator at a school!
