: Will it be possible top do with Delphi5 the kind of programming that VBA is designed for?
:
: I want to be able to automate some tasks withing MS Applications and I think VBA will allow me to do that, but *understandibly* :) I'd rather just throw my lot in with Delphi.

Delphi allows you to do everything that can be done with VBA, while VBA only has a fraction of Delphi's possibilities. The only problem could be in finding the info on how to interact with some MS applications; while all this info is public, it might take some time to *find* it. Some tasks were tackled succesfully by other Delphi programmers, who wouldn't mind sharing the info. For some other tasks, finding the info could be so time consuming that it's better to use VBA for fast results.
Maybe give us a few general ideas. You might get answers in this forum and in newsgroups to get you started, or you might not. Your decision Delphi/VBA really depends from the MS program and task involved: alas, this is not a simple yes /no topic where we can give general guidelines :)
