Capturing what happens (Component Building)

Hiya again :) i was wondering how can i see if something has happened even through the base class??
I want to add an OnChange event to the ListBox component! and i want it to fire everytime something else happens (Add, delete, move, select, etc...) how can i do this?? I dunno where to fire the event in the code :S:S:S

Any help at all would be ace... as i dont know an awful lot about component writing! ;)
