Delphi XE Starter Edition

In 2011, Embarcadero finally released a reasonably priced edition of the latest version of Delph XEi.

This new entry-level Starter edition gives independent developers, small businesses, students and hobbyists a low-cost access to a popular Windows development tool. And they are allowed to distribute their applications on a commercial base, provided that their earnings are lower than the maximum imposed by Embarcadero (about $1000 in december 2011 ;)

Delphi XE Starter offers visual Rapid Application Development (RAD) for Windows . It includes the:

• IDE (Integrated Development Environment) with integrated 32-bit Code Editor, Compiler and Debugger.
• VCL (Delphi's Visual Component Library) containing hundreds of visual components with drag-and-drop features.
  In the VCL, you'll find hundreds of components for creating user interfaces, touch-enablement, grids, Office-style ribbon controls and other Windows controls; more than 120 Internet protocols and Internet standards.
• For database development, InterBase Express is included, as well as the older BDE database engine for systems like dBase and Paradox.

Delphi Starter is priced at $199 or 199 euro. Upgrade from any older Delphi version: $149 or 149 euro.
